Uma vez que a metodologia Living Lab é um dos eixos fundamentais da estratégia de inovação da União Europeia e constituindo-se como um vector essencial para a inovação e internacionalização das empresas a ISA - Intelligent Sensing Anywhere, S.A., promoveu a criação do Intelligent Sensing and Smart Services Living Lab (ISaLL cuja apresentação enviamos em anexo) com actuação no âmbito da Eficiência Energética, Saúde e Bem Estar. Este Living Lab que conta já com bastantes parceiros foi aprovado pela Rede Europeia de Living Labs e iniciou já as suas actividades com a organização de um workshop subordinado ao tema: A Eficiência Energética nas Escolas: Uma Oportunidade de Aprendizagem e Envolvimento da Comunidade na Responsabilidade Social.

No âmbito da comemoração do vigésimo aniversário da sua promotora ISA e com o intuito de assinalar de forma oficial o seu arranque, o ISaLL realizará no próximo dia 1 de Julho uma workshop onde serão debatidos os temas que constituem o seu âmbito de actuação:

• Saúde em Bem Estar: Novos paradigmas;
• A eficiência no consumo e gestão de água;
• A metodologia Living Lab no contexto da União Europeia;
• A Eficiência Energética em edifícios.

Estes temas estão na ordem do dia por diversas razões das quais destacamos as questões ambientais, a escassez de recursos energéticos, a crise económica que se vive a nível mundial e o envelhecimento populacional na Europa. Por todas estas razões, e ainda pelas que não foram mencionadas, estes temas são de interesse especial para todos nós como cidadão, para o ISaLL, para as empresas e para o País.

Sendo o tema tão fulcral para a sobrevivência da nossa civilização e configurando-se esta workshop como o lançamento oficial do ISaLL contamos com oradores e moderadores ao mais alto nivel, como, entre outros:

• Paulo Campos - Secretário de Estado Adjunto, das Obras Públicas e das Comunicações;
• Manuel Pizarro - Secretário de Estado Adjunto da Saúde;
• Luis Soares - Health Cluster Portugal;
• Luis Branco - EPAL;

• Miguel Águas - Lisboa E-Nova.

Esperamos conseguir com este debate delinear e apontar algumas soluções para os problemas que se colocam à sociedade actual. Este objectivo só poderá ser conseguido com a reunião dos mais valiosos contributos e um debate aberto sobre os temas.

ISA traz entidades internacionais para nos falar das melhores práticas nas escolas.

«A eficiência energética nas escolas: uma oportunidade de aprendizagem e envolvimento da comunidade na responsabilidade social» é o tema de mais um workshop promovido pela ISA com vista a promover a dinâmica em torno da eficiência energética.

O workshop reunirá entidades nacionais e internacionais de peso na matéria. Asko Kippo, da Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, e Katri Kuusinen, responsáveis por projectos de sucesso de implementação eficiência energética nas escolas da Finlândia, vêm contar-nos as suas experiências nesse país que desenvolveu um dos sistemas de educação mais eficiente e mais empenhados em promover a eficiência energética nas escolas e no ensino.

Juntam-se ainda a este workshop entidades nacionais, como José Manuel Canavarro, da Microsoft Portugal, promotor do programa «Líderes Inovadores na Escola», Álvaro de Oliveira, chairman do EnoLL, Rede Europeia de Living Labs, que tem acompanhado de perto projectos europeus na área da energia, Francisco Banha, da GesEntrepreneur, especialista em empreendedorismo nas escolas, Pedro Pinto, da empresa Take The Wind, com uma vasta experiência em softwares didácticos, e, naturalmente, o anfitrião, José Basílio Simões, CEO da ISA.

Este elenco irá reunir-se num debate aberto, no dia 15 de Junho, nas instalações da ISA, no Estádio Cidade de Coimbra, que pretende discutri soluções muito concretas para o problema das alterações climáticas, começando pela abordagem da eficiência energética não só como um meio de atingir poupanças nas escolas e diminuir a sua pegada ambiental, mas também torná-la uma oportunidade de aprendizagem.

Nesse sentido, a ISA irá apresentar o projecto «EnerEscolas», um projecto inovador que promete diminuir a pegada ambiental das escolas através de actividades conduzidas pelos próprios alunos. O projecto prevê a integração nos currículos escolares do ensino básico e secundário de aprendizagens sobre consumo e poupanças energéticas, de forma experimental e lúdica, baseada em dados reais da sua própria escola. Este projecto, já implementado com resultados muito positivos no distrito de Coimbra, será agora abraçado por mais Câmaras Municipais.

Deste workshop sairão sinergias para a implementação de projectos de eficiência energética nos Concelhos presentes com resultados e benefícios a promoverem a visibilidade fora do Concelho através das estruturas comunitárias virtuais.

Next week ISA will participate in one of the most renowned events in the world, CeBIT, which will be taking place between March 2nd and 6th, 2010 in Hannover, Germany!

ISA believes that the way to the School of the Future is to incorporate the new information technologies and communication in schools, in the building management, in the teaching processes and in the students’ curriculum. ISA was present at this year’s edition of “electronica 2008”, which took place in Munich from November 11th to 15th.
ISA took the opportunity of electronica 2008 to present its groundbreaking products for the M2M Market. Fostering innovation for 20 years, ISA has recently come up with a family of electronic wireless communication modules for the OEM Market based on know-how and expertise in the fields of electronics, telemetry and control which have been accumulated over the years. This wide range of OEM Modules presented at the largest electronics fair in the world comprises very useful solutions for integration, such as Socket Modems, Ethernet Sockets, Radio USB Dongles and Ethernet-RS485 Bridges.

ISA could not miss the 10th edition of Metering, Billing/CRM Europe. This year’s edition of World LP Gas Forum, whose title “LP Gas: Clean Energy for a Low Carbon World” seems tailored specifically for the solutions that ISA has to propose, will include an oral presentation targeting Multi Utility Remote Metering by ISA. ISA thus shows the Asian market and particularly the fluorescent and strategic Korean market (Korea detains the largest automobile fuel market in the world), its irrefutably advanced solutions.

ISA integrated the Presidential committee at the inauguration of the exhibition “e.Portugal, Global Technology” going on at the Warsaw Technology Museum. Awarding the ISA–Millenium bcp prize “Future promises”
ISA will award the best Portuguese M.Sc and Ph.D graduation thesis in the fields of Physics Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering and Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering. The prize, to be attributed to the winning academic work, consists of 5 thousand Euros, sponsored by Millenium bcp, and an attractive paid internship at ISA. The application submission should be made until May 31st, 2008. These will be assessed by a jury composed of University of Aveiro and Coimbra faculty, specially invited by ISA and Millenium bcp. With this recognition, ISA tightens its bonds with the academic world, getting closer to Portuguese national promises, while promoting, national research.

After the success at “Hannover Messe”, where ISA had the opportunity to promote predominantly OEM modules, another event of global relevance follows, this time in the Gas&Oil market. This year ISA will be present at the “2008 European LPG Conference and Exhibition”, which will take place between May 28th and 30th in Milan. Amongst more than 100 representatives from 40 different countries, ISA will again be promoting its services in the areas of Gas and Energy Efficiency, and demonstrating the potential of its main solutions by way of scale models.
